Overview
The Shimadzu AUTOGRAPH AGS-X2 series provides practical testing solutions for a wide range of tensile and compression applications. It combines advanced control, intuitive operation and safety functions in a compact industrial design suitable for quality control and R&D environments.

Software
Supplied with TRAPEZIUM X-V data processing software as standard for comprehensive test control and analysis. TRAPEZIUM LITE X is available as an entry-level option to streamline quality-control workflows.

Convincing Cost Performance
AGS-X2 delivers practical and cost-effective test capabilities. Real-time auto-tuning of control parameters uses measured force and strain data to simplify stress and strain control. The AUTOTUNING function supports strain control in accordance with ISO 6892.

Application Examples (table)
IRON & STEEL — Conventional stress control and increasing demand for tensile testing under strain control. Applicable standards: ISO 6892, JIS Z2241.
PLASTICS & RESIN — Measurement of modulus in very small strain domains as required by standards. Applicable standards: ISO 527, ISO 178, JIS K7171.
CERAMICS — Samples sensitive to microscopic displacements require accurate control from test start.

High-precision Load Cells and Measurement
The system supports a wide guaranteed load-cell precision range from 1/500 to 1/1, enabling most tests without changing load cells or fixtures. High-speed sampling at 1 ms reduces missed strength changes and improves stress–strain (S–S) curve fidelity.

Improved Safety

• Safety function: stops the tester if force changes exceed a preset level during specimen setting or return.
• One-touch stroke limiters: simple stroke limit setting via switch.
• Protection cover: sliding guard to control specimen scattering; interlock disables testing when open.
• Dual emergency-stop switches: provided on both sides for 20 kN–300 kN frames.

Smarter Work Space — New and enhanced functions
New and enhanced functions ease testing and increase efficiency. Key features include:

• Protection cover: vertically sliding safety guard with interlock; one-hand operation.
• One-touch stroke limiters: pinch-and-slide operation with secure locking of crosshead stroke limits.
• Load cell: high-precision type accuracy ±0.5% of indicated value; rated value stored in calibration cable and auto-recognized on connection.
• Crosshead: test speed up to 2,000 mm/min and return up to 2,200 mm/min (20 kN frame) to shorten repetitive test cycles.
• Common joint for tension and compression (20–300 kN frames): single joint for easier fixture exchange and safe detachment design.
• Main operation panel: create and store test conditions for operation without a PC; jog wheel including automatic extensometer control; movable panel angle; selectable display language (English/Chinese).
• Emergency stop switches: cut power to the servo amplifier to stop crosshead movement instantly in emergencies.
