Description

Overview
Measuring elongation is essential to determine a material's suitability under load. Elongation measurement enables determination of the elastic modulus by capturing small strains in the elastic region and the elongation at failure by capturing larger irreversible strains in the plastic region. Shimadzu's SIE-560A/560SA automatic extensometer series performs both types of measurement with high accuracy and provides automated functions that improve testing efficiency and reproducibility. The series is suitable for metallic materials, plastics, and composites.
