Description

Overview

A deck lashing chain is a high-strength securing chain designed for fastening cargo and equipment on ship decks and maritime platforms. Manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel and available with corrosion-resistant surface finishes, it is engineered for marine environments and heavy-duty deck lashing operations.

Applications
  • Deck lashings for Ro-Ro and general cargo
  • Hoist chains and lifting assemblies
  • Chain slings and crane systems
  • Offshore transport and rigging
  • Port logistics and cargo securing

Material
Heat-treated alloy steel.

Chain Grade
Grade 80 (G80).

Design Factor
Minimum 4:1.

Identification
G80 marking, manufacturer identification; batch traceability available.

Product Features
  • Manufacture: Quenched and tempered alloy steel meeting Grade 80 lifting chain requirements.
  • Surface finishes: Self-color, black paint, powder coat, electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized or customer-specified coatings.
  • Mechanical performance: Minimum breaking load ≥ 4 × WLL (Working Load Limit).
  • Marking: Links marked with G80, manufacturer ID, or custom markings on request.
  • Use cases: Suitable for chain slings, lifting assemblies, hoists, rigging equipment and heavy cargo securing.
  • Customization: Non-standard dimensions, lengths, markings and assemblies manufactured to customer specifications.

Parameter
Available in multiple diameters and link configurations to match vessel securing requirements, cargo weight and deck lashing systems. Long-link designs commonly used for Ro-Ro vessels, offshore transport and general cargo restraint.

Typical specifications (table)
Size | Length (mm) | Width (mm) | Weight (kg/m) | Working Load Limit | Test Load | Breaking Load Min
9 mm | 56 | 15 | 1.45 | 50 kN | 63 kN | 100 kN
11 mm | 65 | 18 | 2.20 | 75 kN | 94 kN | 150 kN
13 mm | 80 | 23 | 3.00 | 100 kN | 125 kN | 200 kN

Standards
  • Manufacturing: Produced to marine cargo securing requirements using high-strength steel and corrosion-resistant treatments.
  • Testing: Batch dimensional inspection, proof load testing, breaking force testing, weld inspection and surface quality checks.
  • Application standards: Suitable for Ro-Ro vessels, offshore transport, heavy cargo securing and port operations.
  • Maintenance: Regular inspection for corrosion, deformation, weld defects, elongation, coating deterioration and excessive wear before use.
