Description

Product Overview
  • Grade 100 alloy steel binder chain with a 4:1 design factor. Supplied fully assembled with clevis grab hooks on both ends (hooks have no cradle). Intended for lashing down on trailers and cargo restraint; not recommended for overhead lifting.

Introduction
  • Grade 100 chain offers approximately 20% higher working load limit (WLL) compared with an equivalent-size Grade 80 chain, allowing reduction in chain size or quantity for the same application. Although Grade 100 chain material is used in overhead lifting applications, this specific binder/tow chain is configured with grab hooks without a cradle and is not suitable for overhead lifting. Hooks are sized to pass through flatbed trailer rub rails.

Parameters
  • Grade of Chain: NACM and ASTM grading systems; higher grade increases WLL for a given diameter.
  • Working Load Limit (WLL): Maximum recommended load in direct tension on an undamaged, straight length of chain.
  • Proof Test: Minimum tensile force applied during manufacture as an integrity check; not to be used for service or design calculations.
  • Minimum Breaking Force: Minimum tensile force at break during manufacture; an acceptance test only.
  • Overhead Lifting: Any lifting that would place a freely suspended load where dropping could cause injury or damage; this product is not rated for such use.
