COMPACT WALL and DUCT AXIAL FANS (HCGB and TCGB)
The S&P COMPACT WALL and DUCT AXIAL FANS feature, as the name suggests, an extremely compact design created by the combination of an internal rotor motor mated with a direct drive wrap around impeller hub. This very low profile design optimizes airflow performance while minimizing noise generation. Both wall and duct mounted versions require an absolute minimum depth for any given wall, ceiling, panel or in-line duct mounted installation.
The S&P COMPACT WALL AXIAL FANS are designed to be installed directly into sidewalls, ceiling and panels and exhaust or supply air to the surrounding environments.
All COMPACT WALL AXIAL FANS include a one piece bell mouth inlet and mounting plate manufactured from high grade galvanized steel. The motor and fan impeller assembly are firmly supported within this mounting plate by a strong steel support frame that includes an integrated finger guard on the inlet side. All units are supplied with motors prewired to a wiring junction box located on the back of the motor hub for easy wiring access. This terminal box protects all wiring connections against the ingress of dust and moisture. The entire assembly is protected by a two stage primer and a tough corrosion and UV resistant polyester paint finish.

The HIB/HIT range of belt drive axial fans consists of three nominal fan sizes, 800, 1000 and 1250mm respectively. These three sizes can be supplied with 1ph 230V 50Hz or 3ph 400V 50Hz motors with various power ratings to achieve the required airflow performances.
Airflow performances range from 13,500 up to 40,700 m3/hr and pressures up to 265Pa.
All standard models include and automatically actuated louvre shutter fitted to the discharge side of the fan and a steel finger guard on the inlet side. In addition, a wide range of specialist accessories are available to complete any given installation.

The jet fans are available as an
* asymmetric type, developed with high efficiency for one direction
* symmetric type, with a partially reversibility (40%; 60%; 90%) in both directions.
With the standard jet fans thrust from 35 N up to 2500 N is available. Higher values are possible on request. With different length for the silencers, nearly every required sound pressure level can be reached. With the special developed impellers (cast in steel-bolts, etc.) very high tip speeds and very high temperatures are possible. X-raying of the impeller blades and the impeller hub is not necessary, but can be done on customer request.
The jet fans are tested according to ISO 13 350, the axial fans according to ISO 5801. Additionally all fans have to pass the factory acceptance test before delivery. The jet and axial fans are tested and certified according to EN 12 101−3.

Fresh air is sucked in via an intake hood.
The filter section consists of an extractable filter with a V-type filter mat of quality class EU4. The intake side is fitted with a louvered damper with oppositely coupled profiled slats and a rod assembly for mechanical actuation. The unit is prepared for the addition of a damper servomotor.
The fan section consists of a double-active radial fan made of galvanized steel. The impellor is statically and dynamically balanced; the bearings of the shaft are durable low-noise roller bearings. The driving motor is a three-phase motor with V-belt. It is supported together with the fan by a diagonal support or a base frame free of vibrations.

Application
WP-D/Ex roof fans are meant for use in areas of explosion risk, where explosive atmos-
phere can occur, i.e. mixture of fl ammable substances in a form of gases, vapours and
mists with the air.
Due to increased pressure it is possible to apply the fans with local exhausts and with
the fi ltering units and also with a ventilation system of signifi cant resistances. The fan
can be used in installation with a roof discharge unit of a required dynamic rise.
Structure
The fan consists of:
– spiral housing,
– explosion-proof motor,
– radial impeller, mounted directly on the motor shaft,
– silencer – installed at the fan outlet,
– fl ange to install the fan,
– motor hood.
The basic elements of the fan (housing, impeller, silencer, fl ange) are made of non-
magnetic stainless austenitic steel whereas the motor hood is made of aluminium
plate. The whole fan is in a natural colour of stainless steel.
