Product overviewSelecting the right slurry separator is critical for maintaining efficiency on foundation piling, rotary drilling, and dredging jobsites. A correctly specified separator reduces hydrocyclone blockages, screen blinding and excessive wear on slurry pumps.
Selection guidance- If slurry contains high sand ratios with low clay stickiness → Choose a Single-Loop Slurry Separator (A-Type). Uses an external feed pump to route coarse solids through a double-deck vibrating screen and hydrocyclone for cost-effective solid-liquid separation.
- If material includes large gravel, high-viscosity mud, or fine sand → Upgrade to an Internal Circulation Slurry Separator (B- or C-Type). Integrated high-chrome alloy slurry pump continuously agitates and recirculates dense slurry to prevent settling and clogging.
- If pumping ultra-fine silt or clay that passes a 180 μm mesh → Pair the desanding plant with a slurry filter press. A hydrocyclone separates sand down to d50 = 180 μm; a secondary filter press is required to remove finer clay particulates for closed-loop water recycling and near-zero discharge.
Capacity & application guidance- For feed pump 7.5–15 kW → 100–150 m³/h units (compact models for small piling rigs and utility trenching).
- For flow rates 200–250 m³/h → 200-B or 250-C mid-sized units with internal pumps to keep sand content below 2% for deep foundation drilling.
- For very large volumes (300–400 m³/h+) → 300-C or 400-C high-capacity separation plants with multi-hydrocyclone groups and higher vibrating motor capacity for large-scale bridge piling and microtunneling.
Working environment considerations- Restricted urban sites / inner-city bridge piers → select compact vertical-pump desanding units with small footprint (example compact formats under ~2.5m × 1.5m).
- Remote regions with abrasive geology (granite, quartz) → specify polyurethane hydrocyclone liners (thicker liners) and high-chrome pump impellers for increased wear resistance.
- Environmentally sensitive sites → use fully enclosed, zero-leakage slurry recycling systems combined with closed-loop extraction equipment to avoid disturbance and spillage.
Installation & mobility- Frequent moves between short-term piling sites → choose skid-mounted units under ~2000 kg with lifting lugs for easy transport by flatbed/forklift.
- Fixed multi-year installations → mount desanding plant on an elevated steel frame or modular container mud tank to enable gravity-fed slurry discharge and easier maintenance.
Power supply guidance- On-grid (stable 380V/50Hz three-phase) → use standard electric-driven models (total power options shown in technical parameters).
- Off-grid / remote sites → pair the system with a diesel generator sized to at least 1.5× total motor startup load.

Notes on typical procurement ranges and system composition- Entry-level single-loop units are economical when relying on an existing feed pump (lower capital outlay).
- Internal circulation units include built-in horizontal slurry pumps and twin hydrocyclones for broad geology versatility.
- For closed-loop near-zero discharge solutions combine separators with filter presses and suitable dewatering equipment (multi-stage plants for large projects).
