Description

Product Overview
Grade 80 SFG Chain Sling is a single-leg lifting assembly manufactured from quenched and tempered Grade 80 alloy steel chain and components. The sling is fitted with a Grade 80 forged hook on the top and a Grade 80 grab hook on the bottom, providing a large throat opening at the top and a fast chain shortening function at the bottom. This configuration is suited to lifting large castings, heavy fabricated components and applications requiring adjustable chain length.

Product Configuration Code
  • S = Single Leg
  • F = Forged Hooks
  • G = Grab Hook

SFG therefore refers to a Single Leg Chain Sling fitted with a Forged Hook on the top and a Grab Hook on the bottom.

Product Identification
Each sling is permanently identified with:
  • Individual Serial Number
  • Chain Size
  • Chain Grade
  • Exact Sling Length
  • Working Load Limit (WLL)

The serial number on the identification tag corresponds with the production certificate and sales order record, ensuring full product traceability throughout the product life cycle.

Typical Applications
  • Steel fabrication and structural erection
  • Foundry and forged component handling
  • Heavy machinery lifting and maintenance
  • Mining maintenance and plant shutdowns
  • Industrial material handling and transport

Standards & Manufacture / Testing
  • Manufactured from Grade 80 quenched and tempered alloy steel chain and components.
  • Manufacturing Standards: EN 818-2, EN 1677-1, EN 1677-2, EN 1677-4, ASME B30.9, OSHA 1910.184, AS 2321, ISO 3077.
  • Design Factor: minimum 4:1.
  • Testing: Each sling is proof tested, visually inspected, dimensionally verified, and checked for component compatibility prior to shipment. Chain meets EN 818 fatigue requirement (20,000 cycles at 1.5× WLL). Each unit is supplied with an individual serial number, identification tag, written certification and full traceability records.
  • MOQ: 100 sets. Packaging: carton + steel pallet.
  • Maintenance: Inspect prior to each use for chain elongation, wear, cracks, corrosion, forged hook deformation, grab hook wear, damaged connecting links and missing identification tags. Remove from service if defects exceed applicable inspection criteria.
