Servo motor refers to the engine that controls the operation of mechanical components in the servo system, which is a subsidy motor indirect speed change device. The servo motor can control the speed, the position accuracy is very accurate, and can convert the voltage signal into the torque and rotation speed to drive the control object.
Similar to most industrial control automation systems, the servo system forms a closed-loop control loop through the controller (brain), servo motor and driver (heart and muscle), and mechanical transmission (bone).
Advantages: good speed control characteristics, in the whole speed area can achieve smooth control, almost no oscillation, more than 90% high efficiency, less heat, high speed control, high accuracy position control (depending on the encoder accuracy), rated operating area, can achieve constant torque, low inertia, low noise, no brush wear, maintenance-free (suitable for dust-free, explosive environment).
The function of the servo motor brake is equivalent to the hand brake of the car. So the servo motor brake is used to lock the position when the motor stops, not to move the motor due to external force.
