Description

Product Overview
Crystalline quartz polarization rotators rotate the polarization plane of an incident beam by a fixed angle that is independent of the incident polarization orientation. These devices exploit the optical activity of crystalline quartz and only require alignment with their optical axis perpendicular to the beam propagation direction. They are a practical alternative to half-waveplates when a fixed-angle rotation is needed, especially for narrowband laser sources.

Key Features
  • Fixed-angle polarization rotation independent of incident polarization angle
  • Suitable replacement for half-waveplates in narrow waveband laser systems
  • AR coatings available for 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm
  • Offered in fixed 45° and 90° rotation angles
  • Optionally supplied mounted in black anodized aluminum holders

Applications
  • Polarimetry and polarization control
  • Laser systems requiring a fixed-angle polarization rotation
  • Optical assemblies where rotation around the optical axis must be minimized

Specifications
  • Rotation angles: fixed 45° or 90°
  • Coatings: AR available for 1064 nm, 532 nm, 355 nm
  • Material: crystalline quartz (optical activity provides rotation)
  • Mounting: available mounted in black anodized aluminum mounts
  • Alignment: only perpendicular alignment to beam propagation required (no rotational alignment about optical axis)
