Polymer retarder film designed to modify the polarization state of transmitted light. Available in quarter-wave (λ/4, WP140HE), half-wave (λ/2, WP280) and one-wave (1λ, WP560) retardation types.
WP140HE (λ/4) and WP280 (λ/2) are single-layer modified polycarbonate achromatic retarders; WP560 (1λ) is manufactured by laminating two λ/2 films to achieve approximately 560 nm retardation.
Optical performance maintained up to 90°C; mechanical integrity up to 80°C.
Applications
Circular polarizers and display modules (LCDs).
Fiber-optic components, polarization control in coherent optical systems, machine vision and laser instrumentation.
Industrial and laboratory polarization assemblies requiring specified retardation values.
Handling and identification
Main appearance: thin polymer sheet supplied with a removable protective film.
Protective film includes a black stripe marking the fast axis for alignment during assembly.
Manufacturers should observe recommended operating temperatures and avoid exposure above specified thermal limits.
