Description

Overview
EXAIR’s Gen4® Ionizing Bar requires no compressed air and eliminates static electricity on surfaces within 4" (102mm) of the bar. The electrically powered Gen4 Ionizing Bar is compact to fit confined machine spaces where charge is generated and is suitable for surfaces that cannot tolerate airflow. Typical uses include paper, film and plastic applications where dust attraction, tearing, jamming or shocks to personnel occur.

Accessories
Power supplies: Model 7960 (2 outlet) and Model 7961 (4 outlet) selectable-voltage power supplies for 115/230 VAC, 50/60Hz systems. Power supplies are UL Component recognized to U.S. and Canadian standards, and are CE and RoHS compliant. Model 7905 Static Meter allows one-hand static measurements and indicates surface voltage and polarity up to ±20 kV when measured one inch (25mm) away.

How It Works
The electromagnetically shielded power cable carries the 5 kVrms power supply output to each capacitively coupled stainless steel emitter point. An integrated ground wire within the cable provides a discharge path from the emitters to the bar channel. Each emitter charges surrounding air molecules, producing positive and negative ions. Ions of opposite polarity neutralize surface charge. Emitter voltage ionizes air without producing a shock if touched.
