Description

Overview
The Gen4® Deluxe Standard Ion Air Knife™ Kit contains all components required to optimize static neutralization with a Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife™: Electronic Flow Control (EFC), universal mounting bracket, power supply, shim set, filter separator and pressure regulator. The Standard Ion Air Knife™ uses a 30:1 air amplification to deliver a sheet of ionized air to charged surfaces for static elimination on plastics, webs and sheet stock. Compared with the Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife™, air consumption and noise are higher but still appropriate for many industrial applications.

Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knives are offered in four configurations:
  • Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife™ — Standard Air Knife with Gen4 ionizing bar assembly. (Power supply not included.)
  • Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife Systems — Includes Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife™ and Model 7960 Gen4 Power Supply (115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz).
  • Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife Kits — Includes Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife™, Model 7960 Gen4 Power Supply, shim set, filter separator and pressure regulator (with coupler).
  • Gen4 Deluxe Standard Ion Air Knife Kits — Includes Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife™, Model 7960 Gen4 Power Supply, Electronic Flow Control (EFC), Universal Air Knife Mounting System, shim set, filter separator and pressure regulator (with coupler).

Specifications

  • Cable: 5 ft (1.52 m) armored, electromagnetically shielded cable included.
  • Power Supply: EXAIR Model 7960 or 7961 required (5 kV). Power supplies include a 6 ft (1.83 m) power cord and lighted switch.
  • Compressed air connection: 1/4 NPT outlets provided on each end of the Standard Air Knife™.
  • Electrical: For use with 5 kVrms, 5 mA (max) power supply.
  • Electrical hazard: Gen4 ionizing bars are shockless (less than 40 microamperes short circuited). Do not use near flammable materials or gases.
  • Materials: metal parts — aluminum; plastic parts — UL 94 HB; emitters — stainless steel.
  • Maximum ambient temperature: 165°F (74°C).
