OverviewThe Lucid-X LSX8081D is a compact, modular microwave signal generator in a desktop form factor. Engineered for low phase noise and high spectral purity, the platform family supports frequencies up to 40 GHz and coherent multi-platform operation for demanding RF test and measurement applications.
Summary- Fast switching speed: <10 μs (platform-dependent)
- Coherent frequency switching and multi-channel synchronization
- Analog modulation: AM, FM, PM; Sweep and Pulse modulation; Pattern modes available
- Phase noise (typical, 10 kHz offset): -148 dBc/Hz @100 MHz; -133 dBc/Hz @1 GHz; -114 dBc/Hz @10 GHz
- Integrated LAN, USB and SPI interfaces; SCPI/VISA remote control
Features — Signal Integrity and PurityThe Lucid-X architecture delivers very low phase noise and excellent spectral purity across applicable frequency bands (family support up to 40 GHz). The product is suitable as a local oscillator source, for intermodulation distortion (IMD) measurements and for high-performance DAC/ADC clocking. Typical harmonics are around -50 dBc; non-harmonics typically -90 dBc.
Features — Analog and Pulse ModulationBuilt-in modulation includes AM, FM and PM plus sweep and pulse capabilities. FM supports deviations up to 10 MHz and modulation rates up to 1 MHz. AM provides linear depth up to 90% with rates to 100 kHz. PM supports peak deviations to 360°. Pulse modulation achieves high on/off ratio (~70 dB typical) with rise/fall times <15 ns. Pattern and fast pulse timing modes support radar, EW and secure communications testing.
Features — Fast Frequency SwitchingUltra-fast frequency switching (down to 10 μs on applicable platforms) minimizes dead time in automated test sequences and enables realistic simulation of frequency-hopping or pulse-to-pulse environments used in radar, EW and advanced communications.
Features — Control and ProgrammingStandard remote control via SCPI/VISA and compatibility with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and LabVIEW. Includes a virtual front panel (GUI) for local or network operation. Supports coherent multi-channel operation and synchronization for phased arrays, multi-channel test setups and quantum-control applications.
