Overview
The Lucid-X LSX8081P is a portable microwave signal generator with a small footprint, designed to deliver low phase noise and high spectral purity for applications requiring precise RF sources. This single-channel 8 GHz portable model is part of the Lucid-X family, available also in Desktop, Benchtop, Rackmount and PXIe module form factors.

The LSX family is engineered for exceptionally low phase noise and high spectral purity, suitable for local oscillators, intermodulation distortion measurements, and high-performance DAC/ADC clocking applications.

  • AM: linear depth up to 90%; modulation rates up to 100 kHz
  • PM: peak deviation up to 360°
  • Pulse modulation: high on/off ratio (typically ~70 dB); rise/fall times <15 ns; pattern and pulse modulation supported


Fast frequency switching
Typical 10 μs switching time enables testing of frequency-hopping systems, radar/EW simulations, and high-throughput automated test sequences.

Control and programming
Remote control via SCPI/VISA over LAN or USB. Compatible with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and LabVIEW. A virtual front panel is provided for local or networked GUI control.
