Description

Overview
The Lucid-X is a small-footprint modular microwave signal generator available in multiple form factors (Desktop, PXIe module, Benchtop, Rackmount and Portable). It is designed to provide very low phase noise and wide frequency coverage up to 40 GHz. The LSX4092R is the 40 GHz dual-channel microwave signal generator in a 19 in 1U rack form factor.

Key Features
  • Dual-channel microwave signal generation up to 40 GHz
  • Very low phase noise (examples at 10 kHz offset documented)
  • Fast frequency switching: ultra-fast 10 µs switching (UFS) and 100 µs fast switching (FS)
  • Coherent frequency switching for multi-channel phase-coherent applications
  • Analog modulations: AM, FM, PM, Sweep and Pulse modulation
  • Integrated interfaces: LAN, USB and SPI

Detailed Modulation & Performance
  • Frequency Modulation (FM): deviations up to 10 MHz and rates up to 1 MHz
  • Amplitude Modulation (AM): linear depth up to 90% and rates up to 100 kHz
  • Phase Modulation (PM): peak deviation up to 360°
  • Pulse Modulation: high on/off ratio (typically ~70 dB) with rise/fall times < 15 ns
  • Phase noise examples: -148 dBc/Hz at 100 MHz (10 kHz offset); -133 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz (10 kHz offset); -114 dBc/Hz at 10 GHz (10 kHz offset)
  • Harmonics typically < -50 dBc; non-harmonics typically < -90 dBc

Control, Programming & Integration
The Lucid-X family supports industry-standard SCPI and VISA command sets and can be controlled remotely over LAN or USB. Typical integration and programming environments include Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and NI tools (LabVIEW). A virtual front panel is included for GUI-based local or network control.
