Overview
The Lucid-X LSX1491D is a compact, modular microwave signal generator available in multiple form factors (Desktop, PXIe, Benchtop, Rackmount, Portable). It delivers low phase noise performance up to 40 GHz and supports analog modulation, pulse modulation and fast coherent frequency switching for RF, radar, EW and communications test applications.

Features
Signal Integrity and Purity
The Lucid-X family provides excellent spectral purity with very low phase noise across the band to 40 GHz. Example phase noise at 10 kHz offset: -148 dBc/Hz @ 100 MHz, -133 dBc/Hz @ 1 GHz, -114 dBc/Hz @ 10 GHz. Harmonics typically −50 dBc; non-harmonics typically −90 dBc.

Analog and Pulse Modulation
Built-in analog modulation includes FM (deviations up to 10 MHz, rates to 1 MHz), AM (linear depth to 90%, rates to 100 kHz) and PM (peak deviation up to 360°). Pulse modulation offers high on/off ratio (typically 70 dB) and very fast rise/fall times (<15 ns), suitable for radar and EW testing.

Fast Frequency Switching
Supports ultra-fast coherent frequency switching (10 μs capability) to minimize dead time in automated test sequences and to simulate frequency-hopping and frequency-agile systems.

Control and Programming
Supports SCPI and VISA remote control over LAN or USB. Programmable from Python, MATLAB, C#/C++ and NI tools (LabVIEW). Includes a virtual front panel for local or network GUI control.
