OverviewThe Lucid-X (LSX) family is a small-footprint modular microwave signal generator platform engineered for high spectral purity, low phase noise and flexible deployment. The LSX8081X is the 8 GHz single-channel PXIe variant, suitable for LO generation, ADC/DAC clocking, radar/EW simulation and automated RF test systems.
Key features- 8 GHz single-channel PXIe microwave signal generator (model LSX8081X)
- Fast frequency switching: 10 µs switching capability
- Coherent frequency switching for phase-stable transitions
- Modulation: AM, FM, PM, Sweep and Pulse
- Integrated interfaces: LAN, USB and SPI
- Designed for low phase noise and high signal integrity
Signal integrity and purityThe Lucid-X family delivers industry-grade spectral purity and low phase noise across its range. Typical phase noise at a 10 kHz offset: -148 dBc/Hz @ 100 MHz, -133 dBc/Hz @ 1 GHz, -114 dBc/Hz @ 10 GHz. Harmonics are typically below -50 dBc and non-harmonic spurious below -90 dBc, supporting demanding LO, intermodulation and clocking applications.
Analog and pulse modulationThe instrument provides comprehensive analog and pulsed modulation capabilities:
- FM: up to ±10 MHz deviation, rates up to 1 MHz
- AM: linear depth up to 90%, rates up to 100 kHz
- PM: peak deviation up to 360°
- Pulse modulation: high on/off ratio (typ. 70 dB) with fast rise/fall times <15 ns
Fast frequency switching10 µs switching time (ultra-fast switching option available on compatible form factors), enabling simulation of frequency-hopping signals, radar/EW scenarios and high-throughput automated test environments.
Control and programmingTabor Lucid-X supports SCPI and VISA command sets and can be controlled via LAN or USB. Integration is supported with Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and NI tools (LabVIEW). A virtual front panel provides an intuitive GUI for local or remote control.
Form factors & interfaces- Available form factors: PXIe module (LSX8081X), Desktop, Benchtop, Rackmount, Portable
