Product Overview
The Lucid-X LSX4091B is a small-footprint, modular microwave signal generator available in multiple form factors (Desktop, PXIe module, Benchtop, Rackmount, Portable). It is designed for low phase noise and supports a frequency range up to 40 GHz.

Signal Integrity and Purity
The LSX family delivers exceptionally low phase noise across the band up to 40 GHz and is engineered for high-performance applications such as local oscillators, intermodulation distortion measurements, and DAC/ADC clocking. Example phase-noise performance at 10 kHz offset: -148 dBc/Hz @ 100 MHz; -133 dBc/Hz @ 1 GHz; -114 dBc/Hz @ 10 GHz. Harmonics typically -50 dBc; non-harmonics typically -90 dBc.

Fast Frequency Switching
The LSX provides a 10 μs frequency switching capability (with an ultra-fast 10 μs option noted), enabling rapid pulse-to-pulse changes required for frequency-hopping, radar and electronic-warfare simulations, and high-throughput automated test systems.

Analog and Pulse Modulation
The instrument supports built-in analog modulation and pulse features:
  • FM: maximum deviations up to 10 MHz and rates up to 1 MHz
  • AM: linear depth up to 90%, rates up to 100 kHz
  • PM: peak deviation up to 360°
  • Pulse modulation: high on/off ratio (typ. 70 dB) with rise/fall times <15 ns

Control and Programming
Designed for integration and automation, the LSX supports industry-standard SCPI and VISA control architectures and common programming environments (Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, LabVIEW). A virtual front panel is provided for local or networked graphical control.
