Description

Product Overview
The LSX1494R is a 14 GHz four‑channel microwave signal generator from Tabor Electronics' Lucid‑X (LSX) family. The Lucid‑X platform is a compact, modular microwave signal generator available in multiple form factors (PXIe, benchtop, rackmount, desktop and portable) and engineered for very low phase noise and high spectral purity. The Lucid‑X family covers up to 40 GHz; this rack model is specified for 14 GHz operation.

Key Features
  • Four coherent channels (4‑channel configuration)
  • Family frequency capability up to 40 GHz; this rack model specified to 14 GHz
  • Fast switching: ultra‑fast switching down to 10 µs (platform/option dependent)
  • Coherent frequency switching for phase‑coherent multi‑channel operation
  • Modulation: AM, FM, PM, Sweep & Pulse modulation
  • Integrated interfaces: LAN, USB and SPI

Highlights from Product Features
  • Signal integrity and purity: extremely low phase noise (family examples): -148 dBc/Hz @ 100 MHz (10 kHz offset); -133 dBc/Hz @ 1 GHz (10 kHz offset); -114 dBc/Hz @ 10 GHz (10 kHz offset). Harmonics typically -50 dBc; non‑harmonics typically -90 dBc.
  • Analog and pulse modulation: FM (deviation up to 10 MHz, rates up to 1 MHz); AM (linear depth up to 90%, rates up to 100 kHz); PM (peak deviation up to 360°). Pulse modulation with high on/off ratio (~70 dB) and very fast rise/fall times (< 15 ns).
  • Fast frequency switching: 10 µs switching capability for rapid frequency hopping and high‑throughput automated test sequences; 100 µs fast switching option referenced for some configurations.
  • Control and programming: industry‑standard SCPI/VISA architecture; remote control via LAN or USB. Supported programming environments include Python, MATLAB, C#/C++, and NI tools (LabVIEW). Virtual front panel GUI included for local or remote operation.
  • Applications: radar STALO/local oscillator, coherent multi‑channel measurements (beamforming, phased arrays), quantum experiments, communications, electronic warfare (EW) and general RF test & measurement.
