This image-processing micro-Vickers hardness tester (model BHV-1000TPTA) integrates mechanical, optical and computer technologies. It supports automatic objective and indenter turret switching, automatic input of measured diagonal lengths and full automation of hardness calculation, data storage, display, printing and hardness conversion. The instrument is designed for measuring Vickers or Knoop hardness on small metal parts, thin sections, foils, case-hardened layers, electroplated coatings, nitrided/carburized/cyanided layers and non-metallic specimens such as jewelry, ceramics and glass. It delivers high measurement accuracy, reliable repeatability, very small indentations and non-destructive testing of samples.
