In many applications ball valves are used, but they often reach their limits with solids-laden media. Foreign bodies, abrasive particles or long fibres can block flow channels and impair or interrupt valve function.
The flap valve allows nearly unobstructed passage of solids up to a defined size. Even long fibres are reliably transported through the pump head over multiple pump cycles without impairing valve function.
The flap valve combines flexible and robust materials in a particularly resistant design. A bendable elastomer sleeve provides the necessary flexibility of the flap while performing the sealing function. A fully encapsulated metal part ensures the required pressure stability at the inlet and outlet. For larger nominal diameters an integrated reinforcement fabric in the hinge area absorbs high forces permanently.
