Product overviewThe Guide Ring FK prevents metallic contact between piston and bore and absorbs lateral forces that occur during cylinder operation. It is machined on turning centers with a diagonal cut and must be selected according to the operating conditions of the hydraulic or pneumatic system.
Materials & mechanical propertiesStandard materials include filled PTFE, thermoplastics and fabric‑reinforced phenolic or polyester laminates. Compressive strength depends on the material and typically ranges from 15 to 100 N/mm². Use the following formula to estimate maximum load per guide ring: maximum load = lateral force / projected surface × 0.75.
Fields of application- static guiding
- dynamic guiding
- single-acting cylinders
- double-acting cylinders
- linear motion
- rotating motion
- oscillating motion
Main usePrimary function is guiding in dynamic applications to avoid metal-to-metal contact and to absorb lateral loads.
