Description

ESD ball joint base designed for secure, adjustable holding and quick-release clamping of instruments, cameras, sensors and other components in ESD-protected work areas. The base provides 360° rotation, infinitely variable locking and a dissipative surface coating suitable for EPA/ESD workplaces.

Key features
  • Ball joint quick release for heavy parts, 360° rotatable, infinitely adjustable; quality product made in Germany
  • For clamping to the workbench (max. table thickness 80 mm)
  • Threaded pin M12 x 1.5 x 20 mm
  • Support surface approx. Ø 20 mm
  • Inclination angle ±45°
  • Included: Schnorr washer and lock nut (lock nut for the thread)
  • Cast aluminum with black ESD powder coating, dissipative 10^7 to 10^8 ohm
  • Dimensions approx. 220 x 170 x 75 mm
  • Weight approx. 940 g

Area of application
Ball joint holders are available in different ball diameters providing different holding forces. A small lever pressure enables stepless locking with high clamping force. Clamping variants include clamp-on base (for workbenches up to 80 mm thick), screw-on base (four 9 mm through holes) or high-performance magnets for rapid repositioning. Typical uses: alignment and holding of cameras, monitors, sensors or measuring instruments; instrument and model making; repair and maintenance of e-scooters/e-bikes/bicycles; laboratories, research centres and universities. Various adapters and extensions can be screwed onto the ball via the threaded pin.

Technical description
Connection thread: M12 x 1.5 mm (special thread). Example maximum torque: ball Ø 40 mm ≈ 24 Nm; ball Ø 60 mm ≈ 100 Nm. Example holding force at the height of the threaded pin: ball Ø 40 mm ≈ 45 kg (441 N); ball Ø 60 mm ≈ 140 kg (1,372 N). Clamping base suitable for table thickness up to 80 mm. ESD versions are dissipative (10^7 to 10^8 ohm) and EPA-compatible. Cast aluminium parts are powder coated; steel parts are chrome-plated and corrosion resistant. Ball friction can be adjusted from loose to very firm via the adjustment screw at the lower ball seat. For safety-relevant applications, actual holding forces depend on application conditions and may differ from laboratory figures.
