OverviewThe BBDM-25KR20M is an air-coupled long-range ultrasonic distance transducer with a 25 kHz center frequency and a recommended operating range of 0.8 to 20 m. It is suitable for large-tank level monitoring, industrial distance measurement, collision avoidance, area monitoring and long-range target detection. The 0.8 m lower limit must be considered in mechanical integration when the closest target or maximum liquid level approaches the sensor.

Beam clearance over the measurement spanThe 11° half-power angle creates a narrower main lobe than many lower-frequency long-range sensors, but the beam still expands with distance. Vessel walls, inlet pipes, structural members or nearby machinery anywhere within the full 20 m path can introduce secondary echoes. Target tilt and surface texture will affect return amplitude and detectability.
