OverviewThe BBDM-16KR50M is an air-coupled ultrasonic distance transducer designed for long measurement paths. With a 16 kHz center frequency and a reference range of 1.8–50 m, it is suitable for large-tank level monitoring, industrial distance measurement, collision avoidance, area surveillance and long-range target detection. The specified -3 dB half-power beam angle is 13° ±10%; beam pattern, target dimensions and mounting axis must be assessed together, particularly at the far end of the intended range.

Mounting configurationsTop and bottom mounting: M32 x 1.5 top thread and M108 x 2 bottom thread. Bottom mounting: M108 x 2 bottom thread.
Installation notesInclude the 2.4 kg assembly and 10 m cable in mechanical support and cable-routing plans. Select the mounting version from the actual dimensional drawing rather than from the thread designation alone. Ensure drive and receive electronics accommodate the stated impedance, capacitance and peak-voltage limit.
Range validation and selectionThe 50 m value is a reference range, not a guaranteed result for every surface or atmosphere. Confirm target size, orientation and reflectivity, air temperature, required dead zone, installation alignment and possible obstructions before final selection.
