OverviewThe SiS Li-Ion Basic battery cabinet from LaCont is an entry-level industrial solution for safe passive storage and optional active charging of lithium-ion batteries. Engineered for fire protection, the cabinet is certified for 90 minutes (EI90) from both inside and outside and integrates detection and ventilation to reduce risk in commercial and industrial environments.

- Constructed from non-combustible materials (Class A2 – s1, d0 per DIN EN 13501-1); finish: aluminium-coloured body, doors in RAL 1023 (traffic yellow).
- Perimeter fire-protection seals that automatically foam up in a fire.
- Lockable doors with double-bit cylinder and swing lever.
- Integrated mechanical ventilation with smoke detector and fan (standard).
- Fire-resistant cable entries at top and bottom for retrofit of alarm/control wiring.
- Smooth-opening doors with 180° opening angle (not self-closing).
- Under-driveable base with 100 mm clearance and removable plinth panel for pallet truck/forklift access.
- Storage levels with height-adjustable grating; load capacity 75 kg per level.
- Optional equipment: active fire suppression (aerosol extinguishing generator), control unit with visual status indicator, power strips for charging, floor pan/drip tray, potential-free interface for signal transmission.
Product variants / operation modes- Basic Store: Passive storage without integrated charging. Supplied with ventilation and smoke detector; no power strips or electronic control unit as standard.
- Basic Charge: Configured for active charging. Fitted with power strips (up to 10 sockets, total up to 3.5 kW) and a control unit with visual status indicator; control unit stops the integrated fan automatically if the smoke detector is triggered.
Facilities and accessories- Aerosol extinguishing generator (optional): Activates automatically in case of critical temperature rise or fire and fills the interior with extinguishing aerosol.
- Power strips (optional / fitted in Charge versions): Organised charging at storage levels for multiple batteries.
- Integrated floor pan / drip tray (17 litres): Contains hazardous liquids in case of cell damage.
- Control unit with smoke detection: Continuous interior monitoring; triggers alarm and can relay signals to building management via a potential-free contact.
- Removable plinth panel for pallet truck access; plinth height 100 mm.
Protection objectivesThe cabinet is designed to meet industrial safety objectives in emergencies:
- Protect people and allow time for evacuation and fire-service intervention by containing a fire inside the cabinet.
- Protect stored batteries from external fire to prevent escalation and additional hazards.
Certification & standardsTested according to DIN EN 1363-1 and certified for 90 minutes fire resistance (EI 90) both internally and externally. Certification report issued by MPA Dresden.
