Description

Overview
The SiS Li‑Ion Premium I/O 90 battery cabinet by LaCont is engineered for secure storage and charging of lithium‑ion batteries in industrial environments. Tested to VDMA 24994 for internal thermal runaway and external fire resistance, the cabinet is proven to contain battery incidents up to 8.0 kWh. Integrated pressure relief, mechanical ventilation and dedicated alarm/control functions reduce the risk to people and infrastructure.

Key features
  • Designed for storage and charging of lithium‑ion batteries; tested according to VDMA 24994 for internal thermal runaway.
  • External fire resistance > 90 minutes (O 90) per VDMA 24994.
  • Proven containment of flames, projectiles and fragments during thermal runaway events.
  • Maximum tested battery energy per cabinet: 8.0 kWh (with raw cells) as demonstrated in real‑world tests.
  • Constructed from non‑combustible materials; standard finish: body RAL aluminium, doors RAL 1023 traffic yellow.
  • Perimeter fire‑sealing gaskets that foam up automatically in a fire.
  • Double‑leaf door with central mullion; lockable via profile cylinder; no self‑closing mechanism; audible reminder alarm after 60 s if doors left open.
  • Technical mechanical ventilation to prevent heat build‑up; ventilation automatically shuts off in case of fire.
  • Base with 100 mm clearance for pallet truck/forklift and removable plinth panel.
  • Height‑adjustable powder‑coated steel shelves; standard supply: 4 shelves (75 kg per level).
  • Floor tray compliant with AwSV, powder‑coated sheet steel (RAL 7035), 5 litre capacity.
  • Optional power strip version: 3 shelf levels each with 10 earth‑connected sockets (max 3.5 kW per strip; max cabinet charging power 10.5 kW).
  • Standard control unit with visual and audible status indicators, smoke detection and integrated mechanical ventilation.
  • Complete disconnection of cabinet power supply in emergency; potential‑free contact for alarm signaling and pre‑wired cable for building fire alarm connection.
  • Optional equipment: aerosol extinguishing generator, active fire suppression, GSM module for remote monitoring.
  • Supply / operating voltage: 400 V (3‑phase).

Additional product elements and safety rationale
The cabinet design prioritizes protection of stored batteries and surrounding assets by combining external fire resistance with internal containment of thermal runaway. Pressure relief and self‑expanding seals limit the release of flames, fragments and toxic gases. Visual and audible alarms plus potential‑free interfaces enable integration with building management and emergency response systems to ensure rapid intervention and minimized operational disruption.
