Overview
The Airmodus A-SMPS is a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer pairing a Hauke‑type DMA with an Airmodus CPC. It delivers aerosol particle number size distributions using a fully transparent, open‑source inversion algorithm. The system supports continuous coverage (seamless extension with the A12 nCNC) and is designed to meet CEN/TS 17434 requirements; ACTRIS whitelist approval is pending and guaranteed within the warranty terms.

CPC detector selection

• A20‑CEN bCPC: ACTRIS + CEN compliant (nominal 10 nm)
• A30‑CEN: CEN compliant, compact option (nominal 10 nm)
• A20‑UF: Extended lower range to ~5 nm (S‑curve below SMPS range — negligible effect)

Applications and deployment
Suitable for laboratory research and outdoor field stations. When combined with the A12 nCNC, the A‑SMPS provides continuous particle size distribution from >1 nm to 1000 nm. It can also act as a field calibration system for CCN instruments when paired with an atomizer.
