OverviewThe A12 nCNC is a Nano Condensation Nucleus Counter (PSM 2.0 + CPC system) designed to detect neutral and naturally charged particles from ~1 nm. It assigns 1–12 nm into size bins by scanning the PSM saturator flow and, when combined with an A-SMPS, provides continuous particle size distribution coverage from >1 nm to 1000 nm for new particle formation and aerosol research.
Key advantages- No neutralizer required — direct measurement of neutral particles
- Live inverted size distribution in MultiLogger with automatic corrections
- Seamless extension with A-SMPS for extended sizing coverage
Features and benefits- Sub-1 nm detection (equivalent activation diameter from 1.19 nm)
- No particle charging or neutralizer needed
- 8 default size bins (ACTRIS standard), up to 14 configurable
- Live inversion and real-time data via MultiLogger
- ACTRIS sub-10 nm whitelist compatibility
- Concentration range up to 1,000,000 #/cm³ (with A30 bCPC detector)
- Automated fill & drain system for working fluid handling
System descriptionThe A12 nCNC couples a Particle Size Magnifier (PSM 2.0) using Diethylene Glycol (DEG) with a condensation particle counter (CPC) detector (A30 bCPC by default, ~20 nm cut-off). The PSM is scanned by varying saturator flow to assign size bins; the CPC provides particle counting. When paired with an A-SMPS, the system yields continuous size distributions from >1 nm to 1000 nm for advanced aerosol science and NPF studies.
Compliance & system components- ACTRIS sub-10 nm whitelist compatible
- PSM 2.0 with Diethylene Glycol (DEG) working fluid
- A30 bCPC detector (~20 nm cut-off default) or A20 CPC option for very clean environments
