Description

Overview The ENVEA 700 LX MHFID is a continuous Flame Ionization Detector (FID) analyzer for measuring methane or total hydrocarbons (THC) in gaseous samples. The instrument includes a heated oven (191 °C), a burner and optional heated sample pump, delivering fast, sensitive and stable measurements for industrial monitoring and process control.

Operating principle A controlled flame sustained by air and hydrogen (or hydrogen mix) ionizes the sample. Resulting ions are collected between two electrodes; the measured ion current is directly proportional to hydrocarbon concentration. The heated oven prevents condensation and stabilizes response for elevated sample temperatures up to 191 °C.

Features and benefits
  • Selectable measurement of Methane-only or Total Hydrocarbons (THC)
  • Sensitivity from approximately 30 ppm up to 3% Full Scale as methane
  • Four user-definable ranges (e.g. 0–30 ppm to 0–30,000 ppm as CH4)
  • Fast response: 90% Full Scale in ~3 seconds
  • Auto-calibration and automatic ranging
  • Electronic flow control and temperature-stabilized detector
  • Automatic fuel/air shut-off and comprehensive diagnostics
  • Standard outputs: Voltage, Current, RS-232 (AK protocol), TCP/IP (MODBUS and AK protocol)

Options
  • Internal heated sample pump
  • Internal solenoid valves
  • 19-inch rack mount slides

Main applications
  • Combustion efficiency monitoring
  • Process gas analysis and control
  • Fuel cell testing and analysis
  • Turbine/generator feedback control
  • Personnel safety and leak detection
  • Vehicle and industrial emissions monitoring
