OverviewFAMA pneumatic suction systems are engineered for continuous, automatic transfer and handling of metal chips from individual production points (machine tools) to a centralized collection or treatment point. The system uses a pneumatic circuit where air velocity conveys dry and oil-soaked swarf along piping to separators, containers or centrifuges.
Main benefits- Evacuates chips automatically from machine tools to the treatment or storage site without operator intervention
- Handles both dry and wet (coolant-laden) chips
- Modular and flexible layout; clean and low-noise operation
- No civil works required and does not constrain machine lay-out
- Improves plant safety and working conditions by removing operator contact with chips and coolant
- Enables unattended production
Operational descriptionThe system is driven by a vacuum pump protected by a safety filter, generating the suction energy required to move oil-soaked swarf. Each machine is fitted with a sub-machine module (GSM): a basin at the evacuator base that temporarily accumulates wet swarf. A level sensor schedules GSM cleaning and queues it for suction. The GSM dosing screw meters the swarf to the suction point; material travels along the line to a separator where swarf precipitates and is stored in a container or routed to a centrifuge.
Available optionals- Double suction lines for multi-material handling
- Revolver (material distribution unit for 2–5 materials)
- Bends with anti-wear lining
- Double guillotine for 24/7 operation
- Shredder for long chips
- Squeezer for very wet chips
- Remote synoptic panel and teleassistance
Further technical characteristics- Operated by a vacuum pump protected by a safety filter to suction oil-soaked swarf
- GSM accumulates wet swarf; level sensor and dosing screw manage feeding to the suction line
- System can include two lines to feed separate centrifuges when machines process two materials alternately
- Multi-material plants can be managed with a revolver for 2–5 materials
- System is designed for short chips; GSM can be fitted with a shredder where long chips occur
