Description

Product Overview
The stainless steel anchor chain is a chain connected between the anchor and the hull, used to transmit the anchoring force and buffer external forces on the ship. A complete anchor chain is composed of several sections connected by connecting links or connecting shackles; each section is composed of many links.

Introduction
  • Material selection: stainless steel that meets AISI standard; moderate softness required.
  • Chain opening: small anchor chain openings should be welded; large anchor chain openings should be matched without deviation; each small chain body should be symmetrical and spacing standard.
  • Surface finish: electrolysis quality should be white, clean and bright.
  • Main application scenarios: yachts, boats, etc.
  • Available materials: 316, 304, 201 and other stainless steel grades can be provided.
  • Corrosion resistance: several times that of ordinary anchor chains.

Inspection Notes
If the stainless steel anchor chain is not magnetic at all, it indicates austenitic structure (300 series). 400 series materials are magnetic (ferritic). Note that being non-magnetic does not necessarily mean the grade is 304 because 201 and 202 materials also exist. Typical nickel content differs between grades (e.g. ~8% Ni for 304). Spectrometer testing or chemical composition verification is used to determine exact grade.
