Product Overview- Electrically welded binder chain
- Finish: self color (hot-dipped galvanized)
- Meets or exceeds NACM and ASTM standards (A391 & A413)
- High strength-to-weight ratio
- NOT to be used for overhead lifting
- NEVER exceed published working load limit (WLL)
- Proof tested and certified
IntroductionGrade 43 chain offers higher tensile strength than Proof Coil (Grade 30). Commonly used as binder, high-test tow or log chain, Grade 43 typically provides approximately 50% higher working load limit compared with Proof Coil of the same size. These chains are supplied with a clevis grab hook on each end. Grade 43 is NOT approved for overhead lifting and must be used only within published WLL.
Parameter- Grade of Chain: NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) & ASTM classify chains by grade; higher grade indicates higher WLL for same chain size.
- Working Load Limit (WLL): Maximum safe working load in direct tension on an undamaged straight length of chain.
- Proof Test: Minimum tensile force applied during manufacture under increasing direct tension to verify integrity; not a design criterion for service loads.
- Minimum Breaking Force: Acceptance test measurement of breaking load during manufacture; not a guarantee for service conditions.
- Overhead Lifting: Any lifting that suspends a load in a position where dropping it could cause injury or damage. Grade 43 is not approved for overhead lifting.
