OverviewGrade 100 Alloy Chain is made of the highest quality alloy steel. Grade 100 Alloy Chain is tested throughout the manufacturing process. All of our Grade 100 Alloy Chain is Proof Tested to twice the working load limit. The minimum break strength is four times the working load limit. Our Grade 100 Alloy Chain meets or exceeds all existing OSHA, Government, NACM and ASTM specification requirements. All of our Grade 100 Alloy Chain is 100 percent Proof Tested. Certs available free of charge.
IntroductionGrade 100 Alloy Chain was specifically designed for the rigorous requirements of overhead lifting applications. Grade 100 Alloy Chain is a premium quality high strength alloy steel. Grade 100 Alloy Chain has a 20 percent increase in working load limit as compared to a similar size chain in Grade 80 chain. This allows reduction of chain size depending on the working load needed. Grade 100 Alloy Chains are also referred to as Grade 10, System 10, Spectrum 10. Grade 100 Alloy Chain IS approved for overhead lifting.
Parameter- Grade of Chain: NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) & ASTM classify chains in various grades. The higher the grade, the higher the working load limit for the same size of chain.
- Working Load Limit (WLL): (rated capacity) is the maximum working load that should be applied in direct tension to an undamaged straight length of chain.
- Proof Test: (manufacturing test force) is the minimum tensile force applied to a chain under a constantly increasing force in direct tension during manufacturing. These loads are manufacturing integrity tests and shall not be used as criteria for service or design purpose.
- Minimum Breaking Force: The minimum force at which the chain during manufacture has been found by testing to break when a constantly increasing force is applied in direct tension. Breaking force values are manufacturer’s attribute acceptance tests and shall not be used as criteria for service or design purpose.
- Overhead Lifting: The process of lifting that elevates a freely suspended load to such a position that dropping the load would present a possibility of bodily injury or property damage.
