Introduction Grade 30 Proof Coil Chain is manufactured from low carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish and is intended for general utility applications such as farm use, log chain, tow chain and switch chain.

Caution Do Not Use for Overhead Lifting. DO NOT EXCEED THE WORKING LOAD LIMIT.

Parameters NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) classify chains by grade. Higher grades have higher Working Load Limits (WLL) for the same nominal size.
Working Load Limit (WLL): the maximum working load that may be applied in direct tension to an undamaged, straight length of chain.
Proof Test: the minimum tensile force applied to a chain in direct tension during manufacturing as a quality test; these values are manufacturing integrity checks and must not be used for design or service calculations.
Minimum Breaking Force: the minimum tensile force at which a test sample broke during manufacture; this is a manufacturer acceptance test and SHALL NOT be used for service or design purposes.
Overhead Lifting: lifting that would place a freely suspended load in a position where dropping it could cause injury or damage.
