Overview
Vertus® III is a fully automated benchtop shake-and-fire system for precision-controlled, repeatable testing of Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs), nasal sprays and nasal aerosols. The system combines configurable mechanical actuation with flexible collection-device interfaces to support industry-standard test methods.

Applications
Automates Delivered Dose Uniformity (DDU) sampling and Aerodynamic Particle Size Distribution (APSD) measurement for MDIs, nasal sprays and nasal aerosols. Compatible with a wide range of collection-device combinations including DUSA, NGI, ACI, waste shot collectors, throat and nasal inlets, and Spray Force Tester.

Precision-controlled test parameters
Vertus® III provides absolute control over method-critical parameters, including:

• Shaking profile — speed, angle and duration
• Time between shake and fire
• Firing profile — force, pause, fire-down, rise and release times; configurable to apply up to three distinct forces per actuation for detect/insert/fire sequences
• Air flow through system

Design & usability

• Devices are clipped securely into holders; interchangeable interface plates allow rapid, tool-free changeover between collection-device configurations
• Large adjustable touchscreen for accessibility and simplified operation
• Support for many standard collection-device arrangements (DUSA stack, NGI, ACI with glass expansion chamber, Alberta throat and nasal inlets, Spray Force Tester, TLC plates for spray pattern, etc.)
• Priming & Waste Module included as standard to integrate firing-to-waste into automated methods for entire-contents testing
• Exhaust Port for efficient extraction of flammable propellants or high-potency compounds when additional safety measures are required

Additional notes
Designed for method transfer to larger-scale systems (method transfer to DecaVertus® III supported), enabling straightforward progression of methods during product development and commercialisation.
