precision worm gear slewing drives are used by customers on heavy equipment, they required rotation accuracy ≤0.05°, with self-locking function, large gear ratio and high output torque. Therefore, we designed the WEA35 precision worm gear worm shaft slewing drives to customers. The worm gears adopted the superior material 42CrMo tempering, teeth quenched. The worm shafts adopted steel worm shafts and teeth quenched. This design can increase the load capacity of a single tooth and maximally improve the output torque of the slewing drive. Customers required reverse self-locking. The worm gears could only be driven by the worm shafts, the worm shafts couldn’t be driven by the worm gears. In this way, the equipment could still remain stationary even when the equipment was shut down or without power, which was very safe and reliable. Worm shaft transmission is equivalent to helix transmission, with multiple teeth meshing at the same time, smooth transmission and low noise.
