Product OverviewThe Excelitas CaliPile Sensor TPiS 1S 1385 is a multifunction thermopile infrared (IR) sensor in an ultra-compact SMD package. It integrates thermopile sensing, on-board signal processing and digital output to enable presence/motion detection and short-range temperature measurement from a single component. Near-distance sensing up to ~3 m is possible without additional lensing; for higher dynamic range and longer-range temperature sensing consider the TPiS 1S 0185.
Device DescriptionThe TPiS 1S 1385 CaliPile SMD combines a high-sensitivity thermopile chip with internal electronics for conversion, filtering and processing. It provides an I2C interface with hardware-configurable address and an interrupt pin usable as a binary event output (presence, motion, over-temperature). The SMD package (4.4×2.6×1.75 mm) is suited to space-constrained integrations; TO-package variants with windows or lenses are available for extended-range applications.
