OverviewThe PYQ 5848 and PYQ 2898 are 4-element dual-channel digital pyroelectric sensors housed in a TO-5 metal package. They belong to the DigiPyro® family and integrate on-chip circuitry to convert element signals into 14-bit digital outputs.
DetailsThe PYQ 5848 uses diagonally arranged element pairs for ceiling-mounted installations, providing motion-direction-independent detection. The PYQ 2898 uses parallel element pairs for wall-mounted installations and supports differential motion analysis to help discriminate object size (for example, pet-immune wall applications). Both models include a built-in temperature diode for internal temperature reporting. The combined output is delivered as three 14-bit signals serialized into a single digital bit stream transmitted via a single-wire direct link to a host microprocessor.
