OverviewThe Excelitas PYD 1378 Low Cost Dual-Element Pyrodetector is a dual-element pyroelectric IR sensor designed for economical, high-volume motion detection applications. It replaces the LHi 778 and is housed in a TO-5 metal package with a small optical window. The device features two sensing elements in an opposed-series connection and includes a FET source-follower for conditioned output and easy integration.
DetailsThe PYD 1378 provides cost-effective performance for high-volume passive infrared (PIR) motion sensing. Two elements are connected in an opposed-series arrangement, combined with an in-source-follower FET circuit to stabilize the output. The TO-5 metal housing with optical window delivers a wide 71° horizontal/vertical field-of-view suitable for common detection geometries.
