DescriptionPneumatic line terminals enable rapid connection of free stripped cable ends in production and automated testing. Electrical contact is established by inserting the stripped conductor into the contact opening. A confirmation plunger is depressed by the inserted cable by approx. 1 mm, triggering the clamping piston which secures the cable to the housing. Pressing the opening button interrupts the air supply and releases the contact.
Function and operationThe pneumatic clamping piston holds the cable end in the contact cavity. The insertion of the cable actuates the confirmation plunger (~1 mm), which initiates the piston movement. The connection is released by a push-button that vents the piston by interrupting the compressed air supply.
Applications and integrationMultiple terminals can be embedded in a plastic block for compact arrangement and high insulation between channels. Four-wire routing can be brought up to the pneumatic terminal. A common valve for a group of terminals allows simultaneous release of all connections with a single signal. SPS electronic provides application-specific solutions for electrical contacting in test and production environments.
Key features- Pneumatic line terminal for free cable ends
- Compressed-air operated with push-button release
- Contact actuation via confirmation plunger (~1 mm)
- Available for max. cable diameters 4 mm, 6 mm or 9 mm
- Electrical connection via Faston plug
NotesFor contacting smooth surfaces such as wire end ferrules, versions with a waffle crown (WK option) are recommended. WK versions are marked with the "WK" option.
