Description

Product overview
The Gamma Ring GA is an axial, single-acting sealing element designed for non-pressurized shaft and bearing applications to prevent contamination and external water spray. A metal fit on the inner diameter secures the component to the shaft and provides mechanical reinforcement. Unlike radial oil shaft seals, Gamma Rings seal on the front (axial) face.

Materials
  • Metal casing: standard unalloyed carbon steel; stainless steel variants available
  • Flexible sealing lips (standard elastomers): NBR, FKM
  • Other materials available on request

Technical values
  • Pressure: not designed for pressure sealing
  • Temperature (material dependent): NBR: -30°C to +100°C; FKM: -20°C to +200°C
  • Maximum surface speed: up to 8 m/s
  • Warning: Maximum values for temperature, speed and pressure are not simultaneously applicable and depend on material and media.

Main use
Axial/front-face anti-contaminant shaft outlet seal with mechanical reinforcement for protection of shafts and bearings against particulate ingress and water spray.

Technical specifications
  • Model: Gamma Ring GA
  • Sealing principle: axial (front-face) sealing, single-acting
  • Application: non-pressurized shaft and bearing sealing to protect against contamination and external water spray
  • Metal casing materials: unalloyed carbon steel; stainless steel options
  • Seal lip materials: NBR, FKM (standard); other elastomers on request
  • Maximum surface speed: up to 8 m/s
  • Operating temperature ranges (material dependent): NBR -30°C to +100°C; FKM -20°C to +200°C
  • Pressure: not applicable for pressurized sealing
