Product description Sealing caps provide secure sealing of shaft and axle-housing bores and are widely used in mechanical engineering. They consist of a metal cap with a vulcanized elastomer coating. The Sealing Cap CT features a partially rubberized outer diameter to ensure contact with the bore.
Design and function The smooth elastomeric outer diameter ensures an effective seal in the bore. The metal ring is manufactured with an interference fit to secure the cap in the bore. The metal cap is made of carbon steel. Standard elastomer materials are NBR and FKM; other compounds are available on request.
Fields of application - static
- dynamic
- single-acting
- double-acting
- linear
- rotating (inactive)
- oscillating
Main use Sealing of housing bores for shafts and axle housings.
Materials Elastomers and metals (metal cap: carbon steel). Standard elastomer variants: NBR, FKM.
Technical values - Variant NBR: Pressure up to 0.05 MPa; Temperature -30°C to +100°C (material dependent); Speed: not specified
- Variant FKM: Pressure up to 0.05 MPa; Temperature -20°C to +200°C (material dependent); Speed: not specified
