OverviewThe Radial Oil Seal Type RR is designed as a pressure-resistant rotary sealing. It features a metal outer diameter for increased press fit in the bore and an additional clamping ring for the PTFE gasket. It is suitable for low-viscosity media and gas applications if the running surface is machined accordingly. The PTFE seal lip and the metal casing provide very good chemical resistance. Standard constructions use PTFE (virgin or filled), a stainless steel casing (material 1.4571) and sometimes an elastomeric preload component. Further materials are available on request.
Performance and benefitsHigh circumferential speeds and stick-slip-free running are possible even with deficient lubrication due to the PTFE seal lip. The design is intended for rotating shafts in housings with either no pressure or pressure differentials up to 2.5 MPa.
