Product overviewComputerised instrument for automatic measurement of the coefficient of friction (COF) of yarns. Recommended for evaluation of wax or paraffin and for control of the waxing process. Designed for unattended execution of multiple tests on a single yarn package and for compliance with standard test methods.
Main features- Automatic execution of multiple tests on a single package of yarn without operator attendance.
- Continuous control of test parameters affecting the friction coefficient, including input pretension (value and tolerance) and yarn speed, adjustable up to 50 cN and from 50 to 300 m/min respectively.
- High-precision electronic tensiometers monitoring incoming (T1) and outgoing (T2) yarn tension before and after passage around the metallic friction pin with a 180° wrapping angle.
- Pre-selection of the yarn length to be measured.
- Option to pre-select the yarn length between consecutive measurements as an alternative to random testing.
- Integrated software for instrument management, parameter configuration, data processing and storage.
- Print-out of test results, statistics, graphical representation of single-test COF and average COF.
Reference StandardsASTM D3108
Accessories- Auto Cop Changer for automatic testing of up to 24 different bobbins (Code 299A) — Optional
- Creel required with Auto Cop Changer (Code 201) — Optional
