CONTEST-F2 is an automated laboratory analyzer for comprehensive measurement and classing of cotton bale fiber properties, including length, strength, elongation, micronaire, maturity, colour grade and trash content.
Suitable for both raw cotton and cleaned lint; the system provides repeatable results independent of operator influence.
Fully automatic operation with an intuitive user interface; classing module calibrated with international standard materials. Designed, engineered and manufactured in Italy.
Modules
Module 1: measures length and strength-related parameters for raw cotton — upper half mean length (UHML), mean length, uniformity index, short fiber index, strength, elongation, moisture and spinning consistency index.
Module 2: evaluates colour and appearance — colour grade, Rd, +b, trash count, trash area and leaf grade for raw cotton.
Module 3: characterizes fineness and maturity — micronaire, maturity index for raw cotton; when testing fully cleaned lint, also provides lint surface area (mike), maturity ratio, percentage of mature fibers, fineness and standard fineness.
Example of obtainable data
Comprehensive dataset for quality control and classing: length distribution metrics, strength and elongation values, fineness and maturity parameters, colourimetric values, trash count and area, moisture and foreign matter metrics.
Technical specifications
Measured length metrics: UHML, mean length, uniformity index, short fiber index.
