Description

Product overview
The F28 Light is a compact, high-speed differential pressure decay leak tester designed for industrial quality control. Its small footprint allows mounting close to the test part to minimise tubing volume and optimise measurement conditions. Up to 50 modules can be networked and supervised via Ethernet (Modbus IP) with a touchscreen interface for integrated monitoring.

Applications
  • Packaging and seals
  • Blister packs
  • Watches and small mechanical assemblies
  • Mobile phones and electronic enclosures
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic fittings
  • Inline production and bench testing

Key features
  • Measurement principle: differential pressure decay
  • Measurement modes: direct / sealed components / desensitized leak mode
  • Smart pressure regulation without mechanical regulator; auto-fill optional
  • Electronic regulation available as option
  • Units supported: Pa, Pa/s, sccm
  • Integrated fill and dump valves; DIN-rail mounting
  • Ethernet network up to 50 modules (Modbus IP)
  • Compact dimensions and low weight for close-to-part installation

Measurement characteristics
  • 0 – 50 Pa — ±(1.5% reading + 0.5 Pa) — resolution 0.01 Pa
  • 0 – 500 Pa — ±(1% reading + 1 Pa) — resolution 0.1 Pa
  • 0 – 5000 Pa — ±(1% reading + 10 Pa) — resolution 1 Pa
  • Accuracy = linearity + repeatability + hysteresis; optional laboratory calibration available

Technical specifications
  • Model: F28 Light
  • Max resolution: down to 0.01 Pa (range dependent)
  • Dimensions (HxWxD mm): Mini 141.5 x 200 x 97 — Maxi 155.5 x 234.5 x 97
  • Weight: ~3.5 kg
  • Regulation: mechanical or electronic regulator (vacuum to 5 bar option)
  • Valves: integrated fill and dump
  • Network: Ethernet (Modbus IP) for up to 50 modules
  • Mounting: DIN-rail
  • Environmental compliance: RoHS

Electrical & pneumatic supply
  • Electrical: 24 V DC / 1.6 A (main adapter 110–230 V AC included)
  • Air: clean, dry air required; air quality per ISO 8573-1
  • Test pressure input: external regulator required

Operating conditions
  • Operating temperature: +5 °C to +45 °C
  • Storage temperature: 0 °C to +60 °C

Technology summary
Differential pressure decay uses a reference volume to compare the test part to a stable reference circuit, compensating for ambient pressure and temperature variations. Only a leak on the test part moves the transducer membrane, so the method maintains accuracy independent of absolute test pressure by measuring pressure differences between two circuits rather than pressure versus atmosphere.
