OverviewThe FUTURESES H40 is a miniaturized uniaxial piezoresistive accelerometer with analog voltage output, engineered for dynamic impact testing such as pedestrian crash tests. It combines very low mass with high impact resistance to minimize measurement artefacts in test structures.
TechnologyThe sensor is based on proven MEMS piezoresistive technology with four variable resistors arranged as a Wheatstone bridge. It delivers a wide dynamic range from DC (0 Hz) to 1000 Hz, is critically damped for accurate transient response and has a damping factor of 0.7.
Housing and configurationMultiple configuration options are available including configurable integrated cable lengths, various connector types and the option to integrate a Dallas DS2401 identification chip. The lightweight housing is optimized to reduce mass load on test specimens.
ApplicationsDesigned as a miniaturized uniaxial accelerometer for pedestrian crash tests and similar high-impact dynamic measurements, the H40 is suitable for optimizing vehicle front-end structures, windshields and for assessing potential impact injuries to head, torso and legs.
EnvironmentalOperating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C. Robust design ensures reliable measurements under severe shock and temperature conditions.
