Description

Product description
Flat strip mica heaters are compact contact heating elements designed for direct application on machine parts and tooling. They are commonly used for plastic forming, packaging and vacuum packaging machines, press platens, anti-condensation systems and extruders.

Construction
The heater consists of a resistance wire wound on a mica sheet, insulated on both sides by additional mica layers. The assembly is enclosed in a heat-resistant stainless steel sheath and supplied with custom electrical connections for installation.

Design and customization
Flat mica strip heaters can be manufactured to match molds and machine geometries with holes, slots and fastening points. Built-in sensors or thermocouples enable accurate temperature control. IHP can also assemble mica strip frames as custom units for specific applications.

Technical specifications
  • Surface load up to 4 W/cm² (recommended up to 3.5 W/cm²)
  • Maximum working temperature up to 320°C
  • Customized voltage and zoning options
  • Built-in sensor: TC J or TC K (other sensors available on request)
  • Resistance wire: Nickel‑Chromium (NiCr) 80/20
