Overview The heat-pipe furnace Oberon 426 operates from 450°C to 1100°C. It is ideal for performing calibrations at Aluminium, Silver or Copper fixed points. It is also designed for comparison calibration of temperature probes and for calibrating infrared thermometers. Heat-pipe furnaces provide optimal performance for implementing and maintaining mini fixed-point cells. The Oberon 426 can be used with blackbody fixed-point cells. The furnace body, with its specific isothermal design based on circulating a fluid around the calibration zone, guarantees a very low temperature gradient over the height of the well. The internal wall of the heat-pipe conduit is not subjected to thermal expansion stresses from the external wall until the conduit reaches conduction temperature. The working fluid is permanently contained within the welded enclosure.
